Thorough avalanche training is critically important for all those who divert from prepared mountain slopes and paths in winter. Our avalanche course for ski tourers and splitboarders provides a comprehensive mix of theory and practice. From planning to execution, you will learn how to assess snow conditions while touring – your foundation for a touring career.

- Interpreting dangers on the basis of the avalanche bulletin and applying this information to tour planning
- Consolidating the 3 x 3 method
- Recognising warning signs in the terrain, identifying favourable and unfavourable slope exposures
- Safe track system for ascents and descents
- Using emergency equipment (avalanche beacon, avalanche shovel, avalanche probe and avalanche airbag backpack)
- Correct procedure in the event of an accident
Using what you have learned, you will be able to recognise avalanche situations and assess conditions independently on basic ski tours. You will know how to organise and carry out an efficient search for buried victims.

Day 1 You can pick up the rental equipment you order following the greeting at the meeting point. After discussing the course agenda, the training begins. The mountain guide alternates between theoretical and practical instruction amid the actual terrain. In the evening, your group plans the tour for day two before returning to the accommodation.
Day 2 After a generous breakfast of regional specialities, embark on your tour as planned the previous evening. Along the way, you will continue your discussion of avalanche-related themes with the group – and enjoy stunning surroundings on the speedy descent back down into the valley. (Distance 5-7 km, tour time 2-4 hours, approx. elevation 700 metres).
